The Hotel Fonda Vela is dedicated to the idea of eco-tourism ; tourism in harmony with the earth. The latin root of "Fonda" means place of rest or nourishment after a long journey. "Vela", or candle , which represents service and good faith. To this the hotel adds a rustic and peace full atmosphere that is sensitive to the local ecosystem. Run by two brothers who grew up on the property, the hotel’s goal is to promote a greater understanding of the environment and encourage the visitors to experience this unique habitat.
