Four mountain ranges cross the country of North to the South: the Volcanic Mountain range of Guanacaste, the Mountain range of Tilarán, the Central Volcanic Mountain range and the Mountain range of Talamanca that lodges the Chirripó Hill, which is to an altitude of 3 820 meters on the level of the sea.
These mountain ranges offer a beautiful landscape of mountains and active volcanoes like the Poás, the Sandy ground, the Turrialba and the Corner of the Old one. They give frame to fertile valleys and to extensive plains that make of this earth a green paradise bathed by rivers of great affluent volume and their manifold.
These are going to end at the oceans that border our coasts, which extend 255 km in the Atlantic and 1103 km in the Pacific. In them diverse surrounded beaches are located, in many cases, of exuberant vegetation.
